IE7 Problems

Ever since IE7 download, when I click that link that is a direct link to a .exe. Like when I click a link to download a program, that link is "invalid". None of my friends have this problem with IE7, and it happens with ever .exe I try to download.

It sounds like the security settings may be hampering you there. IE 7 has a new antiphishing filter that is used to block web sites from copying spywares with ".exe" file extensions on them. You could try disabling that feature by going to the "tools" link seen on the IE explorer bar and scroll to the Phising Filter where you can turn off automatic web site checking or proceed into the more advanced settings to totally disable it(not good idea).

I already totally disabled. *Back when beta was out* I don't really like phishing, I am very safe on signing into sites, and check the url on important sites, e.g. myspace. So thats not a big deal to me.

Something else?

EDIT - I also tried it whiel phising was turned on just to see if that would work, and it didn't.

How are your Outlook Express settings? Sometimes you have to use the internet zone rather then the restricted sites zone to see the extra functionality. A firewall will also see blocks put inplace. Your antivirus programs will often block anything with the ".exe" extension at times just as the IE security settings will. If the files you want have adwares in them that will also trip antispyware and antiadware programs. The updated security features in IE 7 are the main concern. You may have to set everything low.
