if a pin is missing from the power switch connector...

Im not sure what you mean, do you mean that your missing a pin that goes from the power button to the motherboard? Are you missing a pin on the motherboard header? Or what?

i'm talking about the pin on the motherboard where the power switch 2 pin connector goes. does that make more sense?

what so youre saying that theres only 1 pin there, all you have to do is somehow make a connection to the remenance of the 2nd pin, as long as it completes the circuit it will be fine......

Also, in future, try to phrase your questions better, its taken 5 posts to get to what you actually meant, lol

that's the problem..the other pin is COMPLETELY missing.

Are you sure your not reading the pin configeration wrong? ITs prabaaly a key and itsn't suppoded to be there. I thought i could not use my "reset" fo a long time because i was reading the motherboard manual wrong on the pin configerationss, I was counting them wrong then i took a look on what pin 1 2 9 and 10 were and relized i was reading them wrong.

you could be right.

on a computer i've been trying to fix the power switch stopped working, and after looking at it it appeared the pin wasn't there.. but maybe you're right....

Either its broken or you've got the wrong pin in mind :) Some mobos have their power leads spearated by a space (which is freaking annoying) If thats the case, break the jumper connector in two :)

a bit off topic, but ya gotta remeber all cases and mobos are different and manufacturers dont usually talk to each other to sort little propblems like this out, yeh sure they follow the ATX standdard but thats not entirley bullet proof.

On my Abit SG-72 mobo and the soprano from Tt i think it was the power switch. Although there was 2 cables going into the header thingies, there where three connectors but my moo only has 2, so i had to literally get the cutters and rip the thing apart to get to these pins just to solder them to the board, cos there was no way 3 pins was ganna bend round to fit onto 2 pins worth of space on the mobo, lol

*EDIT* - just read the last bit of praetors post about there being a space inbetween, thats what the actual connector from the case switch was like on mine.
