If I double RAM in my thinkpad notebook from 512 to 1 Gig Will I Notice A Difference

I have a Thinkpad T 23 notebook which I use as a second computer in my house
in my bedroom (desktop is in den) & its XP, 512 RAM, 30 gig HD & I just use it for the internet & an occasional word processing function & some burning of CDRS & DVD's, nothing else really.

As such, would spending money to get 2 new 512 memory sticks (I have 2 256 & they have to match), be basically a waste of money as the improvement would be neglibile at best for the way I use this notebook?
 
You would notice it, i did the same, but to a different computer, if going on the web and burning stuff and that, is all you do, then i wouldn't go out and buy memory for it, if your looking to upgrade something on it, the thing i would do is the hard drive especially if you download stuff off the net, and all depending on how you burn your CD's it could make that faster as well, but decently don't waste your money on upgrading RAM if thats all you do on it.
 
Thanks for your comments. Honestly, for what I use this laptop for, the 30 gigs is more then enough. My desktop has 110 gigs on my hard drive & I currently have used at most (on the desktop) 20 gigs & its back to 15 again with the rest free. I don't do gaming or anything on the laptop & even if I download say a large video file or something, I always delete it later on (same with my desktop).
I think the most gigs I've used on the laptop is 10.

I guess the bottom line is, its not worth spending another $200 or so on memory for the few functions I use on the Thinkpad, which use just cause I'm lazy to get out of bed sometimes & walk to my desktop in the den.
