What kind of build would you make? I was going to buy from alienware but i read some stuff on here tonight about building your own system. Someone was saying they rather build a new comp every other year instead of trying to get all high end...or is the term xtreme? Don't get me wrong I want a computer that can do everything it can but if I am paying mostly for technology that won't be used for some time i might as well save some "greens" and build a computer that I can use to its full potential with that said:

1. I can spend up to 5000 max but 2000-3000 is the price range im hoping or even less.
2. I want to use this machine mostly for gaming. I multitask intensively once and a great while but I am more about games.

What would you put in it?

So far im thinking

1.Grahpics-8800GTX or Ultra but the gtx is cheaper now...
2.Sound-hoping for built in 7.1 sound on mobo...if not something by creative
3.Memory-im guessing 2gb of corsair would be enough or would u go with 4gb?
4.Hard Drive-i want a 10000 rpm drive...im guessing raptor..
5.psu-not sure
6-processor-not sure i was thinking AMD
6-mobo-not sure

is this good or what would u change?

Get a core 2 Duo or Core 2 Qaud, they are the new processors out by intel and AMD has nothing right now that's better.
The best one right now is a Qx6800 but that cost $1200
The one I would reccomend would be a e6600 or a q6600 at $226 and $500 both are good nough for anything out currently.

Dont get intel. I will explain why. AMD is down CURRENTLY but there going to be releasing AM3 soon and then AMD will be ahead so u could upgrade if u go with AMD. thats just my Opinoin

AHAHAHA LOL, i'd rather recommend him to go Intel than AMD, why cuz there's a chance that's going to happen the same thing that happened with the ati R2900, that it couldn't beat the GTX even if it was the most powerful model, Doubt AM3 is going to be out so soon, it'll probably take another year at least.

thanks for the help...ill let yall know the parts i get but it will probably be sometime in june...also i hear a lot about new tech coming out next month so maybe itll make these things a tad bit cheaper...thanks again
