If you put 2 fans on top of each other, will you get better CFM?

I believe that they have tested it and it doesn't help (It could actually hinder). However, if you have them in a push/pull configuration (ie, one on either side of a CPU cooler) it does help some.

it has multiple fans spaced apart, not immediately stacked on top of each other. I'm pretty sure if you stack them it'll just create air turbulence, or something like that.
 
my air tunnel doesnt work well.. on one computer. 1.3ghz one. it reduced the CPU fan RPM by 400RPM. should i take it off? but on my 2.8 ghz it gains 200RPM...
 
It's not a question of the CPU fan speed (in fact a slower speed is probably means it's helping, at least if the CPU fan is thermally controlled). What you need to check for are the temperatures with and without the tunnel.
 
dunno aobut thermally controlled but how come slower? the 80MM fans are spinning at 2000 RPM or so and it helps a 4000/3000 RPM fan??
 
Some motherboards have built in fan control... I think PhoenixBIOS calls it 'Cool & Quiet Control' and it just reduces fan speed if it's not needed, so if you're mobo has that, then the lower fan speeds could be because it is well cooled.

yes that is what i had to change with my fan setup, because both fans were pulling, (cpu fan and side fan,) and my cpu was becoming extremely hot, i even made a thread about it... this whole setup caused a suction in my case and raised temps all-around, i even had shutdowns before i solved the problem
