Ihave an old toshiba laptop that needs a new motherboard

I was wondering if anyone knows what motherboard is required for a toshiba satellite 2455-S305 model. It's serial # is 33120951p. I bought this in spring of 2003 and my wife has been using it around the house the last couple of years. She dropped the computer and now the laptop repair people said it needed a new motherboard. I bought her another new laptop for less than the repair estimate. I wanted to tinker with the computer myself and see if I could repair it. I can't find anything on toshiba's site to point me into what the motherboard might be. I would appreciate any help in ascertaining what the replacement motherboard might be.

Your best bet for tinkering with this is to look for an exact make and model with a toasted LDC panel (which should theoretically mean the board is okay, LCD's cost near as much as mainboards and cause abandonments.). Check in used stores, ebay, anywhere cheap.

You could then replace the board for pretty cheap.
