Illegal for System Builders to use Manufacturer Warranties?

I plan to start building some computers but i'm not sure if i am allowed to use non transferable manufacturer warranties to get replacements for components that fail in computers that i'll be selling.

I figured because the warranties aren't transferable to people who buy the computers from me, I could keep track of the manufacturer warranties myself and make use of them when something fails on a computer that i sell.

Now i'm not so sure if that isn't a breach of the warranty agreements for most manufacturers?

The warranty belongs to whoever bought the components in this case you.

What you do with them is up to you, it is no different you doing it than the big manufacturers.

As long as the customer brings the machine back to you and you claim the warranty.

If you are getting into building and selling pc`s and especially providing warranty with them you must buy some warranty void stickers and put them across the door of the case or you will have loads of idiots who have been messing around inside the case and damage something then bring it back to you and play dumb.

Something like these http://www.amazon.com/Security-Label-Warranty-Tamper-Evident/dp/B000J4IH2A

Alright, I wasn't sure that I could have the warranties in my name or if I had to somehow have the customer take ownership of the warranty for it to be valid.
It seemed like i might only be able to use the manufacturer warranties if I still owned the machine.

Thanks for clearing that up, without manufacturer warranties it could be very difficult to sell a system for more than what it would be worth on the used market.

I'll buy some of those stickers as well.

You may want to make up a filing system or database to track you customers and systems, basic things like customer details, date of purchase, any previous warranty claims etc.

Yeah, I build machines for clients and keep copies of invoices for warranty purposes. I actually have to do the warranty rma and not the actual client. Lots of people do this.
