I am running WinXP Pro. when I try to access the registry in run, I get this msg.
The NTVDM CPU encountered an illegal instruction.
C:\windows\system32\drivers\hpscan16.sys
I have done a search and deleted this entry from the C drive. Also got into the regedit by entering "regedit.exe" where I found hpscan16 and deleted it. When ever I try again to enter the regedit under run I still get the previous illegal msg. So, I await instructions from the experts to solve my dilemma. Tks in advance
