Hi guys, im a bit stuck.

Right, ive got :

Dell Laptop with Dell Vista OEM + Licence Key
Dell PC : Was Dell XP OEM + Licence Key however the Key & Disc have gone.

I also have 2 PC's running on XP.
One is a copy of XP Pro and another is a shop install of XP Home with Licence Key.

The Dell PC recently has PSU & HD failure so I replaced both and I installed the Dell Vista disc that I got with the laptop onto the Dell PC. I never had to input the licence key when installing either.

The Dell Vista disc says "Only to be used with Dell Hardware"

Right....

Heres the tricky bit...Im wanting to chop and change about.

I want to install Vista onto my Non Dell PC that is running XP Home.
I want to install the copy of XP Pro onto the Dell PC.

So my questions are?

1) Will the Dell Vista install on my Non Dell PC and if it does will I need to input the Licence Key for it and will it conflict as I have 2 things running on the Vista (which would be a Dell laptop & a non dell pc)

*in addition to that question Im currently using the same Vista on 2 at the minute

2) Will my copy of XP Pro work on the Dell PC?

PS The XP Pro is a NON DELL Disc...The only Dell Disc I have is the Vista disc that I got with my Dell Laptop.

OEM software should only be used on the machine it came with. Using it on another computer would be illegal and we cant really help you. However if you were to try to install Vista on the non dell pc with the OEM disc it wont work... it will know it isn't a dell.
