I'm an idiot and I can't put my case together; please help me not be an idiot.

I have a big, shiny Antec Solo case that I got for an Intel socket 775 motherboard. I don't know how to plug the power button and stuff into the motherboard:

"c" is the cables from my generic case, consolidated into one thing for my motherboard. "b" is my motherboard. It has no "LED" or "PWR" labels like the case's manual indicated. Just some numbers. "a" are the cables from the new case. I'm able to at least power it up by matching up the colors and plugging the power cord in.

The power led is 3 pins, and doesn't fit where the old one did.

The HDD led doesn't function when plugged into where the old HDD led was, but works as a power led when plugged into where the old power led was.

If someone could tell me how I should fix it, that'd be great, but more importantly...

I'd like to know if I'm going to end up damaging my case or motherboard by using only the power cord and the HDD led as a power led. I don't like plugging things in where they don't go. Are they pretty much generic, and I can use it like this without causing problems?

On the motherboard in tiny letters it will usually say spkr, led, hdd, pwr, reset, or something like that. Locate then and plug them in. You seem to be either plugging them into the 3pin power led for the case fans, or you plugged them in the wrong spot.

C is the USB wires from your case. First see if your motherboard even has slots for them.

There's a wider image of the cables in "c." It's the power cables; my USB are sleeved in gray.

And I do really wish the pins were labeled, but they all just say "R---" (dashes represent random digits).

The motherboard is made by Acer and they'd rather have me send it to them for anything to be done to it than do it myself. I had to buy it though, because it was mispriced at Circuit City. 3ghz processor, 250gb HDD and Vista and stuff for $150.
 
Well all I can say for right now is that it's an huggggggge ripoff. HUGE...

Well I can't really find the mobo... if it's still under warranty I'd say either let Acer do the work or refund it.. $469 can build an pretty good system..
 
Yes, at $450 it would be, but like I said before I paid $150. The parts I kept were the motherboard, CPU, and HDD, plus it came with Vista. Vista alone would cost twice that.

Does anyone have any input on whether or not not using all of the I/O cables could damage the motherboard or case?

Oh nevermind then :D...

Nope. You basically need the power and reset... nothing else.
 
Just trace the wires on the connector on the old case back to where they go, power button, reset, HD/LED,PW/LCD and so on, then looking at the connector you can tell which pins on the motherboard are for

I apparently put too much information in my first post to get the important things across effectively, my mistake.
