I'm changing motherboards in my custom built desktop soon

Will I have to reinstall Windows/Will I experience any problems? All my programs are installed to a storage HDD, will I have to reinstall those if I reinstall the OS? (The OS is on a separate SSD)
 
If the motherboard is different then what you have right now then yes, you will need to reinstall windows and all programs.
 
you'll have to reinstall os and programs unless you do a clone, a trick i learned about app data..You can install the programs to a different directory then copy the data to the new directory..or signup for carbonite (carbonite.com) do the backup on carbonite then do os install/program install then carbonite will restore your data..just remember to select all in carbonite settings
