I have win XP 32 Bit on one computer and win 7. 64 Bit on another computer.

I want to use windows essentials so I can install win Live iM program but how do I do this?

Do I just get one for xp and it will work on win 7.?
I want just an iM program that I can put on both?

I don't want Skyp because no one I know has it?

The newest version which only works with vista and windows 7

When you install the program, you can choose to install only the messenger part of it.

You can also use a free IM program called Pidgin which allows you to connect to your live account (as well as most other IM program accounts). Link to Pidgin download site
