for a mid range graphics card you should be looking at the Nvidia 7600 gt as a minimum, the 1650 performs worse and is a bad card,

also id recoomened newegg.com, as a lot of people here use it

alright well how about this, im looking for the best video card i can get for under 100 dollars before rebate. what do you guys think that i should get?
 
i wanted to get you guys' opinion on these 2 things, one is a video card and the other is memory so i just took a shot and put it in the video card one :P

Just this: If you can get yourself a markedly better card for another $20, shut up and do it. I personally would go with that 7600GT with the 512MB memory if I needed to run high resolution stuff, the extra memory is *really* worth it.

But really...save some money up step up closer to the $100 mark. The extra $10-$15 isn't even 10% of the total cost. Scrimping like that will only make you waste your money on something you'll wish you hadn't bought in 2 months.

Looking around there aren't any 512mb 7600gt's at the $100 mark. They're all up at about $130 to $140, and at that price, the x1950pro would be clearly the superior choice.

the only 7600GT i see on newegg with 512MB memory is an agp

Also don't get that RAM,

get this if you're willing to fill out mail in rebates

and get two of these if you're not.


and if you are counting pennies, get this RAM, 2 gigs of 52 bucks...
