I don't have a job yet, so I'm very limited on money. I can't go above $150 and I want a video card that will last me at LEAST 1 1/2 years.
I was thinking a Geforce FX 5600 XT would be good, but I was wondering if there were any better choices. I'm not allowed to order off the internet, and I assume that makes me even more restricted.

Oh yeah, I also have 512 mb ram, 2079 mhz, 120 gig drive, and a current Geforce 4 Mx (lol) and I have a AGP 8x slot waiting to be owned.

Pennsylvania.

That site doesn't have a lot of information, but the store itself usually has video cards of all types. Thats the only place that is specialized in computers around here if I'm not mistaken.

Try and talk your parents into ordering it online, that way you'll get a much better card on that budget, maybe even a 97 or 9800Pro.

To tell you the truth, I just asked my dad, and he responded "how much times are you going to ask me!?...... No."

Video Cards Should last well... For Like aleast 5 years considering you give it proper care and dont overclock it.

Even if you had a card that could last you a million years, would you still use it then? There will be video cards 3, 4, 5 (etc.) times better than the cards we use today. I would update my graphics card at least once every 3/4 years.

Yes 5 years is to much to ask.

The GF3 came about 4 years ago and is already abit slow for the most demanding games. :)

Go to the bank, open your own account, put $150 in it and order off of newegg using paypal.

Also, newegg takes money orders, just takes a lot longer to get it done.

I'm assuming this person is under 18 as his parents won't let him order on the internet. Therefor opening a bank account is impossible unless his parents do that for him, but he already stated they will not let him purchase anything on the internet :)

Yeah, I just turned 14, and I don't have a job yet. But I do want to play 18+ games if anyone cares... cough*doom3*cough

I'm sure his parents would be willing to open a savings account or something for him, if they already haven't.

Do they not want you to order anything off the internet or do they not want to have to do it for you with their credit card?

I remember when I was 14 I didn't always do what my parents said. :)
