I'm looking for a new gaming computer...

Hi. Right now I'm looking for a dependable gaming computer with enough power to run games like skyrim and other RPG's on medium, or preferably high settings.

Right now, my three choices are the cheap Hp Pavillion

And two models of the Dell Inspiron, one with a AMD Radeon HD 7730M graphics and one with the NVIDEA Geforce GT 650M graphics. They are 300-400 dollars more expensive than the hp pavillion.

Can anyone help me out and tell me whether the HP Pavillion is even worth considering, and if not whether the more powerful NVIDEA graphics card is worth the extra $100?
 
Build it yourself. And johhny, ,please learn something before you talk. You do not need a sound card to game. The motherboard had sound as is.

Do not buy a dell or any OEM computer to game. They do not have the power to do it well, and your overpaying for the components.
 
I may be clueless but do you mean pick out the components and specifications and have a third party build it and ship it to you, or do you mean build it yourself. I lack the technical knowledge and dexterity for the latter.
 
derp. Sorry I did not pay attention to the section. Anyway the MSI is the better laptop. However the difference does not merit the cost, go with the Asus.

Those are a little out of my price range, but not out of the question, thanks for showing me them. I'll try reposting the links to the other computers I was looking at. I've ruled out the Hp Pavillion.

I want to know if the difference in Graphic Card quality merits the $100 price difference. Though if you know of any other computers that outperform these two at an equal or lower price I'm open to suggestions.

There is another computer of the same brand that is 200 dollars more expensive. The only major difference was the contrast in resolution. Is $200 really worth the jump from 720p to 1080p? Or is 720p perfectly fine for computer games, and the difference isn't dynamic enough to matter?

The 200$ is not only the resolution that changes...
Your hdd is bigger, you got more ram.
For that screen size, 720p should be ok I think.
 
And would the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660M graphics card handle at least at least high settings at a 1920 x 1080p resolution?

Or would it be better to preserve a strong framerate and get a 1366 x 768p resolution. Would the graphical quality difference be really noticeable?

And would choosing a lower resolution give me some wiggle room to apply modifications to the game and other visual enhancements without hampering framerate. Would it impossible to do those things with 1080p resolution?
