I'm new and I need some help.

My dad is looking into buying me a barebones computer and he wants me to learn the basics of computer internals. We have a $500-$700 budget, and I would like to know what would be the best combination of stuff to get for a computer that could run games like World of Warcraft and such with ease. Well if you have that kind of budget why no go for a new computer instead? if that were the case, something like this, if you already have xp/vista then you can remove it and get a better video card
