I'm stuck (virus)?

Hello new to these forums. I'm having a problem when starting my computer, keep getting following message: google update.exe application error. The exception breakpoint, a breakpoint has been reached (0x0000003) occurred in the application at location 0x00406eef. Click on ok to terminate the program or click on cancel to debug program. Tried both and computer freezes. Any ideas? Thanks for any help
 
Is that a bluescreen you are getting?

How old is the computer? You may want to run some cleanup programs (these are all free)

CCleaner
Auslogics Disk Defrag
Auslogics Registry Cleaner
Malwarebytes
 
uninstall google updater, then go to your google folder and delete the folder, you might also need to clean your registry of all strings relating to google updater, i would not touch your registry if you have never done this before....
