Important questions about my CPU

Hi Guys,
O.k. I have a hp pavillion a1203w with a amd sempron1.8 ghz 3000+ cpu, now I am wondering what would be the highest i could upgrade that to, IM NOT SURE WHAT SOCKET IT IS!!! If someone could tell me what socket it is, or just tell me where to go or what to do to find that out, that would be much appreciated, because this determines if im getting a new pc or not. Also, When i play videos off of websites it always has to stop wait a few seconds (5-10) then it will start again, I was wondering if this is my crappy sis760 with 128 mb of shared memory or if that is indeed my cpu??? Please I need some help on this one!!:confused:

I am pretty sure that your socket for your CPU is 754. It is probably your videocard that is casuing it how much ram do you have and it could be your internet connection to how fast is it. and it could be spyware get a antispyware program and run it to clean off all the spyware and see if that makes a difference.
 
alright, I am currently using charter, wich is running at 100 mbps.,I have 384 mb of ram (wich will be upgraded as soon as i get a new psu, cause i only have a 250 watt!!!), I done a system restore yesterday and I am very safe with what i download, but just in case i overlooked something i ran spybot search and destroy, everything was fine, my motherboard is a HP-Compaq Salmon motherboard.

I was talking to a customer service represenative, and they said the only way i would be able to upgrade my processor would be to buy a new motherboard!!! Wich I really dont want to do, They however would not tell me the socket of my cpu, so now I am very confused, and I am wondering if my system will run games NON LAGGY such as wow, everquest 2, guild wars, etc. after i upgrade to a 256 mb radeon, and over 1 gb of ram, the only thing is all that would be upgraded but not my cpu!!! Im like very confused and am thinking about buying a new system, but really need the money for other things.HELP!!!:(
