Well i just got into computers and whatnot i ve always been interested but anyway. I have two computers My moms computer Dell Dimesion 4500 it has 384mb of ram. I have a Toshiba Portege 7140-CT Pentuim 3 Processor, 192mb of ram and 6gb hard drive Windows 2000 Pro, talk about out dated but it gets the job done because i dont do much on it. i want to make it perform better its max is 320mb of ram but i cannot find a compatible module anyone know some good ways to improve performance. I want to overclock i red the sticky still no help.

Do you know what type of RAM it uses?

And generally speaking, you cant overclock pre-built desktops or laptops.

I've only found one laptop with any overclocking features, and it was just a very tiny change in performance(only a few MHz) Hehe, and trust me, that beast got PLEANTY hot as it was. I seriously doubt your laptop will have any overclocking features, period.

As for RAM, it's hard to say. My friends laptop didn't like PC133 RAM we got for it(original was PC100) so maybe that was your problem...or vise versa? Either way, I wouldn't spend too much time on those machines. If you're not careful you'll spend more than how much you could just get a cheap new laptop for :P
