improving network signal for business

Hi,

My family owns a motel that offers wireless internet, but the router is in the office and the signal is not strong enough to reach the edges of the property. As a result many of the units suffer through slow internet performance.

I talked to my cable company and was assured that it was not our bandwidth capability. So now I just need to figure out how to improve the signal. I read about using wireless repeaters to extend the signal? Does anyone have experience using these? And if so, what brand do you recommend?

Also, the tech support guy at the cable company suggested switching from a Belkin router to a better one like Linksys. Is Linksys significantly better as to make this worthwhile?

With repeaters it shouldn't matter what brand. Either that or look into powerline adaptors.
