In need of Computer advice!!

I need some advice on what computer to buy. I have been looking at Dell, Asus, and Apple.
I mostly do web surfing, messaging, Facebook, homework, gmail, and im about to start making music videos.
I just need something reliable and that can handle multi tasks. I was looking at the 11-inch MacBook Air but i would like to try to find something a bit more cheaper. If someone can give me some advice, price does matter but i don't want the advice to just be based on price. Right now i have a HP Pavillion dv6000 and im not happy with it.

I have owned many Dells and have always been very reliable for me.

I recommend this one due to it's design, it is light weight, good battery life and powerful. This laptop will be able to do what you need.

Apple is not bad, I would not own a Mac just cause of the price tag because I know I could buy a PC which will be just as reliable and run Ubuntu for my OS and it is just as reliable, fast and easy to use as OSX.
 
Dell studio xps is a pretty good laptop, But I have a friend who has one and really likes it but he sent it in to be repaired and when it came back it wasn't fixed right. So they had to work on it twice, but the laptop its self is very good and not to pricey. Its pretty sturdy and won't just fall apart like some acer laptops do. The only reason his broke was because he just doesn't know how to treat laptops.
