in trouble..............

hey guys,
i just tried to get into one of my hard drives and i couldnt get in or see anything on it. also, it did not have the same name that i gave it. instead, it went back to its default Local Drive (E:) .

i tried to get into it through cmd prompt and it told me

Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

Windows still sees the drive but won't give me properties on it. The Bios can see it and all of its details (cylinders, heads, tracks, etc.....)

now im just wondering if there's any ways that i can at least get the data off without sending the hard drive away and having to pay money.

thanks in advance

thanks for the help SN. its totally dead now though. my pc can't see it anymore or nothing. if its not dead, it will be tonight when i open it up and jam some screw drivers in there to see what makes it tick.
anyways, thanks for the help

You can prolly still recover the data :) (unless you really wanna just see what its like inside and all :))
