InCD woes

Hi all Tech-Gurus:
I'm trying to help an individual that uses Windows98 system to do bookkeeping work and uses "Ahead/Nero's" InCD to back up data to CD-RWs. InCD's system crashes every other time it gets used and in the process, it destroys a CD. I'm definately going to get rid of InCD and get her Roxio or something else but in the mean time we have a stack of CD's that have been rendered useless by InCD. These discs cannot even be formatted after InCD gets done with them. I'm thinking that InCD wipes out a critical track or something. Are there any methods for restoring these useless CD's...? 'Maybe software that will return the CD to it's original pre-formatted state so that I can reformat them and put them back into service?

Ive had that happen to cd's before and I dont think theres a way to fix them. Ive tried before and it wont reformat them...check google lol
