After go through a lot of trouble to install the SSD in the laptop, with many attempt finally get windows 7 installed. The drive was so fast I was very happy with it. After few months I park the laptop for while didn't use it.
When I took it out and use it again last month. It gave me endless problem. it take forever to boot and make programs not responsive also BSD. I use few hard disk utlity to check the drive and found nothing wrong. I even use low lever format on it and have the same problems.

I finally bit the bullet and tear the laptop apart, YES tear it apart because I have to take off the keyboard and the track pad with the handrest before I can access about 19 screws to open the back cover( I don't know why ASUS make such problem for us enduser. Never buy this laptop again).

I took out the drive and put into my 6 year old Toshba p105 laptop (just two screws on the back cover compare to 19 with ASUS) and it work without any problems. The laptop is a old laptop and it seem to waste the SSD with it even through the SSD give a new life to this old laptop.

Is the SSD incompatable with the ASUS laptop? or I mess up something in the bios? the SSD have the latest firmware 0309 version. sorry for the long post. any one have any advice? I plan to buy a different brand SSD to put in the ASUS.

Thank you.

Seriously, with the G53 you have to remove keyboard and touchpad..etc??

I had a G73 and currently have a G74 and both of them are removeable panels on the underside, you can swap drives in 5-10 minutes tops..

Sorry you had such a crappy experience!@

honestly, if you are saying that what is shown in that video is difficult, then I would advise you stay away from performance laptops. That is not difficult nor time consuming. Keyboard removal, that is just like most modern laptops, and the panels that come off are to be expected. They make the laptops like this to keep retards out of the innards.

It is not necessary. They made g73sw which is more powerful than g53sx. They don't make it like g53sx and hard drive and memory is nothing to mess around. End user alway upgrade their hard drive and memory all the time. Remember when you just get a new laptop you don't want to take it apart.

Yah, the G74 has a single flathead screw on the underside holding in the large access panel.

Remove that one screw and you have access to everything in 30 seconds!

That makes sense to me..why should you have to remove the keyboard..etc.

They try to make chance for dealers and service technican make some money from us enduser. I know I won't buy another one of these laptops.
