Hi. I recently purchased an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard and was wondering whether this would be a good deal.....

INFINEON 1 GB PC2100 RAM

HYS72D128521GR-7-B
128M X 72 SDRAM
PC2100R-20330-N
1024MB DDR, 133MHz CL2 ECC reg
11S IBM P/N Z H/C S/N 38L0431
1GB PC2100 CL2.5 2.5VV D P (128X72)

Would this work with the ASUS A7N8X-X and would it be a good deal for £25?

I'm buying it off ebay, and it only has 3 hours left, so please reply ASAP :D

Thank you!

Whoa, not a good call on the memory.
- ECC memory is slower than normal memory
- Thats running PC2100 and your mobo is native PC2700 (and easily supports PC3200). PC2100 andPC2700/PC3200 never did get along well
- Get PC2700/PC3200 memory :)

Cheers Praetor!!!

What about this?

2 X 256MB DDR333 PC2700U 184-pin - Branded - Nanya for the ASUS A7N8X-X??

Thanks!

Works but a suggestion: that board OCs quite well so you might want to get at least PC3200 so you can get a free performance upgrade :) ... of course my Samsung 2700s ran at 3700 quite well :)

And this!!

This is top quality stuff, but I'm not sure if it is compatible as it is 400 Mhz and I think the ASUS A7N8X-X is only compatible with soem 400mhz? I'm not sure if that is true, but I saw a table on the item description part with DDR 400 RAM things on... Heres the website: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6720521906

Near the bottom, there's a table....

Also, does the ASUS A7N8X-X have an "Nvidia nForce2, Intel 865, or Intel 875 Chipsets or AMD 64"

I highlighted that part further up...

Thanks!

EDIT:

oooooooo don't worry.... It wont work... I missed out the "and" bit in "Does Not work in Any ASUS Boards and if you have an Nvidia nForce2, Intel 865, or Intel 875 Chipsets or AMD 64.

Oh well... But should I be lookign for that kind of quiality and stuff praetor?

LOL that would explain a (compatability) bit however 128x4 =512 != 1024 = somebody is lying

The N in A7N8X-X is for nForce2 :)

I'm quite glad I've got an nForce2 chipset thingy on there as I want this PC to be for gaming..... I'll be on the lookout for RAM :D Watch this space Praetor, more information will be coming your way soon :P

Cheers mate!

What about this?

INFINEON 256MB DDR SDRAM PC2700 266MHz Memory Module

I read further on and apparently there is a mistake.... Impossible for it to be PC2700 and run at 266Mhz.... Apparently it runs at 333Mhz.. even better I suppose.. What do you think praetor?
