ok this all happens to us at one time or another. i clicked on a site which ends up being a bad site but when you go back, enter new site, close out, ctrl alt delete and infinite loop confirm popup shows up asking if i'm sure i want to leave.
now i've done this before but i forgot what prompt to hit to kill the looping popup and enable me to leave that site

please help!

You mean Ctrl-alt-del and end task on your broswer? You should just be able to close the broswer normally to get away from the site.

i'm the kind of person who runs 6 or more windows at a givin time so i don't want to shut all of them down

but anyways theres a trick one can use to to get by it and i've done it before but i forgot how..... it like only 2 or 3 buttons you gotta hit to do so

right now i got out of it by shutting of the internet then clicking ok (so it couldn't download/upload anything

but for future reference does know what it is offhand?

It's also possible that you are infected, you may want to do the following.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

Should also get Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. Works like I champ. I have it paired with AVG 2011 and Malwarebytes.

Ad-aware is old and outdated for todays standards of malware protection. Malwarebytes and Superantispyware provide better detection rates then Ad-aware.
