Ok, before i get the stare down...I AM A COMPUTER NOOB:D
well, not noob as such, i have owned computers for along time but am not that savvy with little things.

now, below are my laptop specs. Its a desktop replacement.

2GHz intel core duo
2gb of ram
exact wording is
"t2500 @ 2GHz"

Graphics card is:
Nvidia GeForce GO 7400
its not a normal one, its a 512MB card DEDICATED, no turbocache.

I can run left for dead 2. but the graphics sometimes struggles when there are hundreds of zombies.
I could run call of duty 4: modern warfare (the firs tone) with no issues on medium tolow graphics.

Below are the specs required for modern warfare 2.

OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista (Windows 95/98/ME/2000 are unsupported)
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor or better supported
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or better or ATI Radeon 1600XT or better
DirectX®: Microsoft DirectX(R) 9.0c
Hard Drive: 12GB of free hard drive space
Sound: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet Connection required for activation.
Co-op/Multiplayer Hosting: To host Co-op or MP matches, a 2Ghz dual-core or better processor is recommended.

My question is.
The other parts of my computer can run the game. but the graphics.

Now, although mine is 512MB, its a geforce GO. not as powerful as the larger cards ?
the min requirements is 6600GT as a nvidia equivalent.
What is better?
geforce go 7400 or 6600gt?

If it can run it, will it run like pooos or will it run reasonably/
has anyone tried running this game on this same card?

On that setup Modern Warfare 2 will most likely run slower than the original at the same "medium" settings. The 7400 Go cards are not powerhouses, though it is probably similar in performance to the prior generation desktop 6600gt if not a little under.

Keep in mind that the 6600gt is the Minimum requirement to run the game. That pretty much means that the game will run at the lowest settings possible on that configuration. And, by run I mean that the program will launch and you will be able to see bland graphics at a low frame rate. But, it will run.

Playability is subjective. Some people don't mind slide shows.

yeah, thats what im weighing up.
left 4 dead 2 runs now lowest settings. but its realy jittery borderline on frustrating.
modern warfare two seems so awesome if anything compared to the first one.
might ruin the game if i run it like that

here is a great website with the specs on each card:

make sure you look at core speed, bus width, memory type, and memory speed. those are important. although they are also overclockable (the core and memory speeds at least).

Keep in mind that core clock speeds from generation to generation do not necessarily make the best comparisons. Some newer cards came in clocked lower than their predecessors but had much more in the way of computational power with more shader cores.
