my friend and i bot have laptops and we wish to transfer some images between them. both laptops have infrared. how do i turn them on? is there a software i can use?

i forgot to say i have a compaq evo n610c and he has a hp ze5250.i have already looked in the bios and found nothing. i checked the dives and it says that its is working properly. how do you turn them on? infrared
There should be a button on your laptop somewhere. If there isn't trying putting in the model number of your laptop along with the word infrared into google
