ingSegments of DVD Movie Problem

Greetings All,

....I started a project of converting a vcr tape I made to dvd. I am using a "go video" tape to dvd unit. (can do vice versa).

....What i have done so far is burn fragments from the vhs tape to segments that appear on the dvd disc. Clicking on them will play that segment.

....What i now need to know is if there is any software (or any other simplified way) of taking all those segments and joining them together to make 1 continuous dvd movie (so-to-speak). If i were to open (explore) any of those segments, there would be the typical files one would find in a commercially recorded dvd. Any assistance would be appreciated. THANKS!

Wouldn't the best way to join all the videos together be just to use any old video editing software and put them all together, then render the file and burn it to a DVD using something like DVD Architect Studio or Encore or something?

I recently did a project like yours (take a video from a VHS tape, restore it a bit using Premiere Pro, render each section individually, then all as one, then burn it to a DVD) and that method worked.

THANKS FOR REPLY.

HOW?...the saved video files are burned to the dvd in segments (read below).

I can't do anything until i find out how to extract the burned dvd files that are on the disc to my computer and then, merge/join teh other saved files with/to it and then burn to a continuous movie.

What i did is what i did. when i select the fragments on the vhs tape, start and stop same, that section is burned to the dvd. then, i come to another section and do the same. when you look at the finished product on the dvd, you see selections to click on which will play each segment recorded. HOWEVER, this is where my question is. you have addressed what you do/did but, not how you were able to pull off the video files in each section to a separate folder (so-to-speak) and then join together.

Read the above. what i am trying to find out is as to HOW to pull of the segment files (as aforementioned) and join with all the other segmented files to make 1 continuous movie. or, to take the dvd files (segments) and convert to mpeg and at which time i could join the mpeg's together and then convert to dvd for burning.

OK so you've got video on DVD which need copying to the PC correct? You need to rip the DVD to your PC in order to 'copy' the video from the DVD to your PC. Due to forum rules, we can't tell you how to do that here, but a bit of Googling for 'DVD Ripping Software' will sort you out there.

Once you've ripped the DVD to your PC, you should be able to put them into a video editor and join them all together and render the video as one.

Hope that helps?
