After being on these forums for a couple of weeks, You guys have inspired me to attempt to build a computer for my oldest child. Budget is around $600.00 not including monitor or Windows 7. Needs to be decent enough to play low games and some Wow on mid range settings. After some research, I have come up with this build.... please help me to know what needs to be changed and if I can save some money somewhere.. Over budget by $75.00 right now.

If you really want to cut $75,
go for cheap i3 2100
RAM go for 2 x 2GB

Not much you can do on the rest of the setting...

Video card - I believe 6770 would better than GTS 450 at similar price

would the i3 2100 bottleneck the system? Or is it well matched to the GTS 450? I know so little about different components that I am unsure.

I'd stay where you are at with the proccessor, you'll get a nice chipset and have the ability to upgrade to i7 if you want. Like daisy said, cut your ram in half and maybe find a cheaper case. Try and find combo deals on newegg.com ever little bit helps when you are on a budget.

He probably can't find a cheaper case. Antec 300 is only $55 - 60. A decent budget case would cost $40 - 50 any way.
newegg sell NZXT GAMMA cheap, although I don't like the look of that
