Instal XP on External Drive

is it possible to instal windows XP on an external drive and also i have used almost half of this drive with my files, will the installation wipe the drive, I need to know, thanks

It is possible but its really not ideal.never tried it but id say it wouldnt go smoothly.
installing another drive in your pc would be a better option.
if u do install it on your external you will lose the files on it,unless its partitioned and u install xp on a separate partition to your files

Yes you can install it but every time you want to run it you have to change your BIOS settings so you can boot from usb its not that hard but it can be if you dont know what you are doing. It will wipe the whole drive because windows formatting will take over the whole space.
