Hi, I have a new internal HDD for my Laptop. I want to increase space. I do not want to move everything to an external HD and then put it all on the new HDD (which seems to be the only advice I can find) as I want a fresh start. I want to pick just the files I want. Basically I want to keep games, save game files, pictures, music and videos.
Can I do this, or will loosing some of the other files cause problems? There seem to be hundreds of files on my current HDD, many of which I do not know what they are. I worry it wont work if I loose all of them, but want to clean away some of the rubbish it has picked up over the years.
Do you have advise as to the minimum I need to keep?
On a side note, I noticed if I transfer my Program Files folder to the external HD it is 25gb on C drive, but the transfer window says it is 7gb and when it ends up on the external HD it is 23gb? What is going on, which 2gb are missing, and why is the transfer window so wrong?
Any help greatly appreciated.
