Installation issue with suse linux 10.1

After going into bios and arranging it to boot from cd/dvd I save and restart. I then wait and the window pops up which shows the different options for installation.

Installation
Installation-ACPI Disabled
Installation-Local ACPI Disabled
Installation-Safe Settings

I read to work from the bottom down and that some older computers have issues with hardware, well my computer is not older, anyways, I continue to try each option and the same thing happens. It has me select the language I am using. It brings me to another prompt which gives me options I am unfamiliar with. Such as loading drivers and installation etc etc. When I try to select the option to install it says it cannot find cd/dvd. It gave an option at the earlier screen to load file system and I loaded ntfs for the hell of it to see if it would do anything and it didn't.

Oh well I am stumped, I am pretty new with this and would appreciate the help.

Hey Suse can find your dvd cos its able to see.Its actually not finding somethings or packages on the disk right ?....please specify the error..

Yea it takes me through the initial boot sequence but then takes me to another screen with different options. I will reboot and be more specific.

okay when the installation begins just click "Abort" at the bottom.it will put you at a blue screen saying you aborted. Now go to "kernel Modules" -->"Load file system modules" and select "udf"..if it haas already been loaded go back and go to "verify installation of cd/dvd rom"..it will perfom a check to see if your suse Dvd is actually good or properly burned to do a setup...hope it helps.

I will try that but this is what happens.

I go to boot options and it gives me these options:

Installation
Installation-ACPI Disabled
Installation-Local ACPI Disabled
Installation-Safe Settings

I select Installation and after a short wait it brings me to a screen that says "Could not find suse linux installation cd activating manual setup mode"

I try to select install from cd and it then states "unable to mount cd rom"

?

When I attempted to use the option 'live cd - gnome' it said this:

"need to mount this cd/dvd to /.cd.real"

what ever the hell that means...
