Hi all,

A few days ago, got a black screen saying "no bootable device." Turned out the hard drive was busted, so I got a new one and replaced it. However, I'm still getting the "no bootable device" message despite the new hard drive showing up on and having #1 on the list on the Boot list, when I press F2 at startup.

I guess my question is how to do I get past this message, and to the point where I can format my new hard drive? I have the drivers/apps and recovery disks to reinstall Vista as well.

Thanks for any help

You need to boot to the recovery discs to reinstall Vista. The new drive is completely blank and unformatted; that's why you can't get past the message.
