Installed Hit.. gf1000 Win98 How to drive it

I just installed Win98 in Pen3 1GHx 40GHD. I installed a Hitachi GF1000
dvd/RAM and I can't find a driver for it.
Ia the dvd a burner?
I seems like a cd takes a long time to show up on the
explorer window.

Any help here?

Your IDE channel is probably running in PIO mode. Update the motherboards chipset drivers. Then check in Device Manager under your IDE controllers or your listing for your CD/DVD drives and make sure its running in DMA mode, not PIO.
