hmm.. are there any programs out there than can run in the background that can detect these things?

That was my initial question, never asked about an anti-virus to run in the background, but you responded with the following..

Every antivirus runs in the background! They scan things automatically as you download things or scan im's and e-mails etc

That's why I made the comment on how since AVG was not able to detect this problem I wanted to know if there are any programs that run in the background to detect the malware,etc that I received so I can prevent this in the future..

yeah I know it's not a virus.. And for the system restore Unless windows automatically did it, I never have looked into that yet as far as doing it manually PRE-THEME..

There are many bad files here. If you'd like to continue, please do next:

Download Avenger, and unzip it to your desktop or somewhere you can find it. (Do not run it yet).

Note: This program is for use on Windows XP 32 bit systems only, and must be run from an Administrator account.

• Open a Notepad file by clicking Start > Run and typing Notepad.exe in the box, click OK.
• Click Format, and ensure Word Wrap is unchecked.
• Copy and Paste the text in the box below into Notepad.
• Now save the file as RemoveFiles.txt in a location where you can find it.

Start Avenger by double clicking on Avenger.exe.

• Check Load script from file:
• Click on the folder symbol below and to the right, and browse to RemoveFiles.txt.
• Double click it to enter it into Avenger.
• Click the green traffic light symbol.
• You will be asked if you want to execute the script, answer Yes.
• At this point you may get prompts from your protection systems, allow them please.
• Avenger will set itself up to run the next time you re-boot, and will prompt you to re-start immediately.
• Answer Yes, and allow your computer to re-boot.
• Upon re-boot a command window will briefly appear on screen (this is normal).
• A Notepad text file will be created C:\avenger.txt.
• Copy and Paste it into your next post please.

In your next post also post a HijackThis log:
Click here to download HJTsetup.exe

• Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
• Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
• Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
• Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
• Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
• At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
• Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
• Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
• Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
• DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

I'm not noticing any major problems at the moment, I never noticed all of those little hidden ones until you brought it to my attention..lol..

I haven't re-booted since avenger has finished and rebooted itself and I had my sound off.. So I will re-boot and let you know if I hear anything...

hmm.. I don't hear anything (yet) and it's been 2 minutes since re-boot.. I think that problem may be fixed... Any Further suggestions on what to do from here, I.E, clean up more crap, run something else, any back ground programs that run that WILL detect future problems like this, etc, etc??

Well it wasn't that serious, but clearly I think that we solved the music problem, it was caused by a Risk Tool Win-Reboot, but I'm not sure so don't take me seriously.

You're using AVG antivirus. There are maybe 1-2 better antiviruses and they all require money so stick with AVG.
Download CCleaner from http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ and run it every week and your pc should do just fine.
Should your pc start having problems, post it here and we're try to help
