installed printer wont work

I have installed my printer c66 ( EPSON) All ready to print. So as soon as print the box comes up in the left hand corner. It says ready. and a small box says print to file should this be ticked? its not at the moment.And then theres a box which says find printer i pres this and theres a white box which has printer at the side.Should this have anything in it?then under there it says shared printers in the box facing that it has a tick in the box expand by default.is this write? then under that it has a big white box saying.microsoft windows Network.I dont know if anyone can understand this.But its cracking me up trying to get it to print. bUT IT STILL WILL NOT PRINT!!!!

all of this is aimed at shared printers, as in printer that are connected to a different machine on the network. Is this printer actually connected to the pc directly???
