Installing any optical drive whether ide or sata is simply a matter of first shutting things down and unplugging the ac cord. A sata hard drive seeing Windows installed is a totally different situation since an OS often requires drivers for devices like sata drives to see them work. A sata burner is simply another optical drive that will appear as a new logical drive when Windows later detects and installs it on it's own.
