Installing an OS

Ok im going to build my own comp when i do, do i only need to OS or is there anything else and also when i some how put it together and turn it on how would i install it

To install an OS you set your CD or DVD drive as the first boot device and stick the CD or DVD in. Your machine will boot from the media and take you into the formatting / partitioning / installation options.

Also you may need a floppy drive if you choose to install an older OS (like a Windows 9x version)

98 CD was bootable, not sure about 95 CD.

if your build is going to have a raid you will need a raid floppy disk when windows is finished installing you will need the mobo cd
