Installing Debian with SATA Hdd

How do you install Debian if you have a SATA hard drive? Debian's built in partitioner doesn't even see my hard drive. Is there a comman I should write at the boot screen or something?

Found a package on the official Debian site:

http://packages.debian.org/testing/debian-installer/sata-modules-2.4.27-2-386-di

but I'm not sure if it already comes with the Debian install DVDs which is what I downloaded. If not, how do I set it up? and is this even what I need or is there an easier way?

im not too clued up on linux installations that much, expecially not with SATA drives, but by doing a bit of reading that does seem to be what you need to get...
