Installing Mobo

This is my first build, I need help.

My case came with small lumps where the Mobo goes.
So if I put on stud's or spacer's it will not line up with the rear of the mobo.

I tried it with no stud's or spacer's and it fits just right.

Can I leave it with no stud's or spacer's ???????????????

Let me know
thanks guys

You need the gold "studs", where you screw down the motherboard. Im not sure what case you have, but as long as the case supports the size motherboard you have, it should work. Usually cases support many different sizes, so you may need to move them around.

If you dont use them, then theres a high chance of your motherboard shorting out.

You don't "need" the spacers on all motherboards. Some are made to work just fine without them... I don't totally trust them, but I have had computers for a few years that used them and still work just fine...

What Omega said is correct with some boards... If you screw the mobo directly to the case it will short out. But something about those spacer lumps typically prevent that...

Well on my case I absolutely can't put any studs in it.
It already has the lumps, so with the added studs it comes too far out of place...........

What do I do.

I connected it with no spacers or studs,
I connected the mobo right on the lumps.

Let me know
thanks

I,ve got a few old cases that has the risers built into the case, you dont use risers with them. But be careful you have to put like electrical tape over the ones where there no screw holes in the motherboard or it will short the board out. That might be one reason why they dont make them much anymore!

You need to make sure that the motherboard isnt touching the case, only the area around the screws can touch.

And as The_other_one said, I guess on some motherboards they have lumps where the screws go, so it's not necessary. But on the cases i've had it's a flat piece of metal, so you need them.
