Installing Operating System in RAID

I'll be installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on a server my boss bought (Dell Poweredge T300). We're just a small computer shop, so I'm going to use the server for customer backup and image files.

Now, I wana install it with RAID0. How do I do this? I've never installed anything in RAID before. All three 250GB drives are plugged into the RAID controller. Do I just download the RAID driver from Dell and press F6 when it says to?

The first step would be to enable raid in the bios, then boot to the raid utility and setup what raid you want. Then install the OS. Haven't messed with 2008 but if its like XP then you would need to install the raid driver at the beginning of setup.

Are you sure you want to use RAID 0 as a means to backup customer data? It provides a performance boost in some situations at the sacrifice of being several times more likely to have a disk failure, causing data loss. RAID 5 might be a better choice.

Yeah i would say RAID 1 or 5.. still whatever floats your boat.

I agree with the others, RAID 0 is not the ideal choice for keeping customer backup, one disc down and its all gone.
Unless you have good reason we don't know about.

Well as far as customer backup goes, that's not going on the server. Before you guys even posted I tossed it in RAID-5 cause it seemed best in case we lost a disk.
