This is my first time building a PC, well i ran in to some problems.
I bought a processor from eay. it dose not come with heatsink.
so i bought a heatsink. but i cant install it.

this is the Mother board i bought. It looks like i need some type of divice to lock the heat sink on the board.

any 1 know what it is? and where I can find one? A local store maybe. like best buy? comp usa? else a online store.

there are 2 ways to attach a heat sink. There is the Intel way where it attaches to the board through those holes and the AMD way where the heat sink has a metal bracket that clips to tabs on the processor seat. Check the seat, it might have those tabs.

If it does, install the processor, add thermal paste, get one side clipped and settle the heat sink on the chip. Use a screw driver to force the other end of the bracket until it snaps on the tabs. Be carefull because it takes a bit of force and if you slip you can puncture the board. I've seen it happen. There should be a raised slot thing on one of the brackets that will hold the screwdriver and keep it from slipping. It's not fool proof but I suggest you use it.

I can see the clips on the heat sink.

as you can see but I still need something on the board. else theres nothing to clip to.

I have an older PC, can this thing be taken off from other PC?

if your older PC is a P4, than sure you can take it off the old mobo, but if your old mobo doesn't have it, you will be hard pressed to find that part by itself. Your best bet is to email or call Intel, and discuss with them how you can aquire that part.
