Installing RAM

I have 2 256MB sticks that I need to put in my Compaq Persario, I just want to know if all I need to do is turn off the comp, put them in and turn it back on? Will it install them automatically?

Yeah that should do the trick. Just make sure they fit and you put them in the right way :)
 
also make sure you have the power supply unplugged and touch a piece of metal before working on your computer to let all the static out. then install it. turn on your computer and it should read it no problem. you might want to restart it again just to make sure it did read it properly.
