Installing service pack 2 and removing sp3

Can anybody help me with a problem I have?
I want to install a program that requires service pack 2, and the one that is installed in my lop top is SP3. Can I remove the SP3 and install the older version SP2, and how I can do so?

If you have the newer version of the service pack all the older files are still there. You definitely shouldn't downgrade to an older SP because of everything it does, you'll probably see a performance decrease, plus SPs fix a lot of security holes.

Basically the program should run fine on service pack 2 and newer.
