Does anybody know if it is possible to install Windows XP on a USB drive?

Any instructions on how it can be done step by step?

I plan on soldering the USB drive in to the USB port on my laptop inside the case. Can this be done? or should I worry about buning the USB drive or Laptop USB port?

Thanks alot

Of course its possible.Remember one thing.EVERYTHING is possible in the computer world.:D

Anyway to install the Windows XP on the USB stick or USB HDD,you will need to modify the Windows XP CD-ROM disk files and then burn ALL that on the new blank CD-ROM disk. Here is how:

By the way installing the Windows Millennium or older versions on the USB stick or USB HDD is a peace of cake.;)All you have to do is to unplug your MAIN HDD and plug in the USB device you want to install to.The Windows setup will automatically detect it as a hard drive.:DI have installed Windows ME on the USB stick once.It worked like charm.:DAnd watch this...IT NEVER EVEN CRASHED HAHAHA!!!:D

Thanks guys.

I did a search on google and found the two links that you guys posted. But I was not sure if it is true or not.

Going to give it a try.

Thanks again
