Installing Windows XP on Windows XP Pro 64bit? Help!?

Sup everybody,

I recently purchased Spore for my pc, but unfortunately i have encountered a lot of compatibility issues with my windows 64 bit pc (what else is new). So to overcome these problems, I want to install a second operating system on my computer (windows xp original) so I can play this game, along with others. How should i go about doing this so I dont loose any of my data? :confused:

You can't run 2 Windows programs on the same drive. You have to have 2 separate partitions. I run a duel boot system with xp pro 32bit and xp pro x64 bit. C: drive is my x64. and d: drive is my 32 bit xp pro. Just because of my webcam and dvd burning software won't run with x64. If your drive is cut into other partitions you will have to use a program like partitions magic to split the drive. or reformat and split the drive then.
 
thanks, but how would i go about making this second partition? and thus ultimately installing windows on this partition?
