Installing XP on Sony Vaio VGN-NR160E

I just bought the above laptop with Vista installed. When trying to install XP from CD, I get a message that the HDD cannot be found. I'm assuming the hardware is newer than the CD image has drivers for and therefore doesn't see it.

I checked Sony's site for drivers and was just told that they don't support installing a back dated OS.

Any suggestions?
 
Won't work, XP doesn't have drivers for the hard drive therefore will not support it, Good luck trying to install an operating system, at this point sony laptops are pretty much OS proof, meaning you are stuck with vista.
 
Wow, this is a sweet laptop, but I'm not sure if I would have bought it knowing this. I guess I have to cave eventually......
