I am trying to install Windows XP on a laptop within my wireless network. I am doing this because, the laptop onto which i am installing XP has no CD drice, All the three usb's are Shot . Is there any way i can get this done, or am i wasting time? If there is a way, i would greatly appreciate if you could detail in steps on how to do it. Thank you

If your usb's are bad then there is no way to install an operating system without the cd drive.

True...but i have an active wireless connection and the computer shows up in my network list. therefore dont you think you can install windows on it over air.

How can you have an active wireless connection on a laptop with no operating system installed on it?

he can install windows from within windows. and there is such a thing as a network installation from disc image. usually you set up a file with the answers to the basics, your install key, regional settings, time zone etc. learnkey has a whole video series on this.

He can't do a fresh install from within windows. A fresh install requires deleting the partitions and recreating them and then installing.
