Installing XP

I am buying a second hand laptop which has Win98 SE installed. The machine definitely has the capicity to runXP, but the only disk I have is an XP home installation disk which came with my PC, and says should only be used with an eMachines computer.

Basically, is it possible to use this disk to install XP Home on my laptop?

I don't see why the disc wouldn't work, emachines might have it add alot of extra stuff you don't really need but it should install fine.

legally you should only use that disk (watch your spelling) to reinstall that OS on your eMachines computer.

Provided that A) it's a true XP disk and not just a hard drive image on CD and B) they haven't locked it out so that it will only work on E-Machines then it should install just fine.
